Sewing machines have been around for centuries and have made life easier and more enjoyable ever since they were first invented. In recent years advancements in sewing machines have led to more automated home-use machines that are more efficient and require less effort from the user. One such machine is the Kenmore sewing machine, which is a user-friendly machine that is ideal for beginner and experienced sewers alike. In this article, we will discuss how to set up the Kenmore sewing machine for the first time so that you can start sewing with ease.

Assemble the Machine

Before you begin to get your Kenmore sewing machine set up, you will need to assemble the attachments and components that come with your sewing machine. This includes the power cord, bobbin, presser foot, feed dog, needle, needle plate, and thread stand. Some machines come with an instruction manual that will tell you how to assemble the machine and how to attach the various pieces. If your machine does not come with an instruction manual it can be found online.

Set up the Machine

Once you have assembled the machine you will need to make sure that it is properly set up for use. Start by placing the machine on a sturdy and even surface; preferably a table that is at waist level. If you do not have a table that is at the correct height, you can use a stool or chair to help adjust the height. Position the machine so that it is facing away from you, with the power cord coming out of the back. Now plug in the power cord and switch the machine to the ‘on’ position.

Install the Bobbin

Once the machine is switched on, it is time to install the bobbin. The bobbin is the spool of thread that sits underneath the needle of the sewing machine. To install the bobbin, follow the instructions that come with your machine. Generally there should be a hinged section on the top of the machine that opens up and provides access to the bobbin seating area. Place the bobbin into the designated area and then thread it through the guides and tensioner wheel until it is secure.
