Oil the Moving Parts

Maintaining a Singer Tradition 2250 sewing machine means regular oiling of its moving parts to make sure it works perfectly. Before attempting to oil the machine, make sure you disconnect it from electricity and gas, clean it of any dirt and debris, and lay down a piece of cloth to keep it free from paint-marring oil spots. Identify the metal parts that need to be oiled.

Using the Wrench to Unscrew

Once you know where to oil, take out the screwdriver and the wrench and turn the screws to get the parts loose. You should turn the screws in a clockwise direction to open them and use a wrench to release the bigger screws. Unscrew each piece, one by one, and place them near you as you oil them.

Apply the Oil

Once all the parts are unscrewed, you will need to prepare the oil. Use a clean rag and pour the recommended amount of oil on it. Start applying the oil to each part using gentle pressure, until the surface is evenly covered. Make sure you follow the instructions that come with the pack, which will help you know the exact amount of oil for each part.

Reattach the Metal Parts

Once all the parts are thoroughly oiled and ready to go, it’s time to reattach them back onto the sewing machine. Make sure that all the screws are tightened properly and that they are secure. Be careful not to overtighten them as you might end up damaging the parts. And now you are good to go!
