Materials Needed For A No Sew Face Mask

Making a face mask without using a sewing machine is much easier than you may think. All you need are a few materials to get started: fabric scraps, bias tape, rubber bands, and scissors. To make a no sew face mask, you’ll need one fabric scrap measuring 11” by 6” and two fabric scraps each measuring 6” by 4”. You’ll also need a pair of scissors, two rubber bands, and a piece of bias tape cut to 11”.

How To Make A No Sew Face Mask

To start, lay your 11” by 6” fabric scrap flat and fold it in half lengthwise. Take your two 6” by 4” scraps and lay them on top of the folded fabric and pin them in place. Cut a small slit in each of the two 6” by 4” pieces of fabric. This is where you’ll feed the bias tape through to hold the mask together.

Next, fold the bias tape in half lengthwise and feed one end of the tape through each of the small slits you created. Once you have the bias tape in place, you can start to tie the rubber bands around the top and bottom of the mask. Tie each of the rubber bands on the top and bottom in place.

When you’ve finished, remove the pins and adjust the bias tape to make a tight seal around the mask. Finally, cut any excess fabric from the sides of the mask and you’re all done!
