What is a Brother LS 2125 Sewing Machine?

The Brother LS 2125 sewing machine is a handy, versatile and reliable sewing machine from the famous Brotherhood. It’s an ideal choice when it comes to basic, low-budget sewing needs. With ten different built-in stitches and four-step automatic buttonholers, it has all the necessary features to make basic repairs, or to sew decorative and creative designs and patterns. Additionally, the free arm feature of this simple machine allows you to sew sleeves and other hard to reach areas.

Preparations Before Threading the Machine

Once you’ve bought the machine and taken it home, it’s essential to give it a once over to make sure everything is in order. Ensure the bobbin is empty and that there is no tangled or stray thread. Find the metal needle clamp screw and make sure it’s tightened properly, with no foreign objects (such as extra threads) stuck around it. Check that the presser foot is set at its normal position, as this will affect the way you thread the machine. Most importantly, make sure that the power switch is off, as you don’t want to start threading with an operational machine.

Threading the Upper Part of the Machine

Once you’ve made sure the machine is set up correctly, it’s time to start threading the Brother LS 2125. The first step is to thread the upper part of the machine. This can be done by first taking the spool of thread and putting it on the spool pin at the top of the machine. Move the thread in a clockwise direction around the thread guide beside the spool pin and then thread it through the appropriate eye of the take up lever. You should then tie the thread to the handwheel and take the thread to the needle. Start threading the needle by entering it from back to front and going through the thread guide near it before finally threading it in its eye.

Threading the Lower Part of the Machine

The next step is threading the lower part of the machine. Start by taking the bobbin thread and sliding it through the bobbin case and tension spring. Then place the bobbin onto the bobbin winder shaft, hold the loose thread and press down the bobbin winder, to begin winding the bobbin. Once the bobbin is full, press the release button and pull the thread through the slit of the bobbin case. Make sure to keep a few inches of thread tail as you won’t need to cut this off later.
