The first step in making a clothing sewing pattern is to find a basic garment that you’d like to sew. Once you’ve found a garment, you’ll need to take some measurements. Be sure to measure both your chest and waist, as well as the length of the garment. Once you have your measurements, you’ll need to transfer them to a piece of tracing paper.<\/p>\n

Tracing paper is a thin, see-through paper that’s specifically designed for tracing patterns. Once you have your measurements transferred to the tracing paper, you can start to draw your pattern. Start by drawing a line down the center of the tracing paper. Then, using your measurements, draw the outline of the garment.<\/p>\n
